Our Class Website
This is the active classroom website that I use to communicate with parents as well as relay information to my students. It is an excellent tool for keeping in contact with them. It also allows me to make sites and information available to students as they work in our classroom or at home on homework. Connecting with parents is extremely important for the lasting education of a child. I have tried a large variety of tools including Google Forms Survey, PollEverywhere, Google Calendar, embedding videos, linking sites, and more!
Take a Vacation!
Through this website, students will learn about the United States of America. During the class, I would have the students go through the activities and learn about various states other than our own. This would broaden their knowledge of the great county we live in. These projects would then turn into a scrapbook for them to keep. I would also use this as an opportunity to have the students work with partners and get to know
Michigan
This is in the early stages of development. However, my intentions for this are for students to use this as a place to get to know our own state. Michigan would be covered more extensively throughout the class than the other 49 states. In that sense, I hope to allow the students to include their own stories of adventures in our state and pictures of places they have visited in Michigan. I will edit the site frequently including the information that they give me through assignments. Therefore this site will be mostly student created, teacher edited.
Elementary Math
I have compiled various website for students to experiment with math games based on their level in school and that grade's curriculum. At the time, this only goes through early elementary, but I may branch beyond and include resources for students in upper elementary. Not only can they practice math skills here, but they may use it to reference the site for homework help.
Georges Melies
While creating a Webquest to accompany the story Hugo Cabret, by Brian Selznick, I was unable to find enough information about the historical, George Melies that was on grade level for my elementary students. After much searching, with little success, I created a site for them to use in conjuncture with the webquest. This provides information about his life, his accomplishments, and his connection to the story of Hugo. Please explore not only the site, but the webquest that goes along with it.
